Instructions to Download and Install (Sync) the Palm Version of “Fast Facts for Critical Care”

Requirements: Palm Operating System Palm sync software installed on your desktop computer

1. After you clicked “download” on our website, your desktop computer will
   have asked if you want to save or open the file. Be sure to designate “Save to Desktop”. File Name is: eFFPalm07.1
2. Go back to our purchase screen and click on “Please click here to complete
   your order.” This will cause 3 emails to be sent to you:
   a. your receipt
   b. your password
   c. a link to the download (lasting just 24 hours) in case you were unable to download from our website or were interrupted in the process of downloading.
3. Have your password ready. Your password is on the receipt that we emailed to you after your purchase. (Check your spam folder in case the email was sent there instead of to your inbox).
4. Connect your Palm to your computer.
5. Turn on your Palm
6. Click on the file that you downloaded from us (eFFPalm07.1), to unzip (if you have a PC) or unstuff (if you have a Mac).
   Open the eFF file folder and note the 3 files:
   a. These instructions (for future reference)
   b. eReader EN 2.6.3
   c. eFFPalm07.1
7. Install B and C above (the two palm files) using your Palm Quick Install. Alternatively you can double click on each of those files (B and C) to open the ‘Install’ tool.
8. Sync your Palm to move the files to your Palm.

View eFastFacts in your PDA

1. To view eFastFacts for the first time:
   On your Palm, go to “home” and select “eReader.”
   A list of the eBooks that are in your Palm will appear.
   Select “Fast Facts for Adult Critical Care.”
   On the Palm screen, you will be asked to “name” your book. Enter your name.
   You will be asked to enter your “password.” Enter the password found on your receipt.
2. eFastFacts will take a moment to load when opened for the first time, but will be instantaneous after that. The first page of Fast Facts will appear.
   The entire book is now in front of you. You can scroll down, all the way to the end, if you like, but we recommend navigation! Continue to step .3
3. Scroll down until you see the Table of Contents, which lists all of the chapters. Tap on a chapter. The chapter table of contents (subjects), will appear. Tap on a subject. The subject will appear. Scroll down to read about the subject.
   If you see a “graphics” icon, tap on it to open it and to view it.
   To enlarge the graphic, press the “scroll up” control.
   To return to the text, tap “home” or press the “select” control.
   Icons on the screen and go-to menus will allow you to return to the previous page, or back to the book’s Table of Contents, so that you can select another chapter and another subject. The program also has bookmarking and note-taking features.
4. eReader is free, but during the first 15 days, it will display a message that there are “only a few days left.” and that you should enter a registration code or password. This just means you can order additional features for eReader. You can ignore these messages (doing so will not affect the operation of eFastFacts), or if your are interested in the additional features, you can order by going to: http://www.ereader.com/product/browse/software.com.
